Women’s voices strongly echoed as TICAD VI Summit convened gender officials from Africa and Japan to enhance partnership towards improved socio-economic development

Ministers, ambassadors and experts from Africa and Japan concerned with gender issues in maritime, business, construction, mining, agriculture, logistics and private finance among others convened together in an effort to build on commitments made to gender equality and women’s empowerment, the TICAD VI Declaration and actions as outlined in the Yokohama Action Plan of 2013–2017.

The Twenty-Seventh Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) in Kigali, Rwanda, ended on an extremely high note. It was hailed by many, including the Chairperson of the AU Commission, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma as the best Summit ever.

​AU Foundation appoints its first ambassador.

The African Union Foundation (AU Foundation) recently appointed Ambassador Carl Masters as its first official Goodwill Ambassador. Ambassador Masters, who originates from Jamaica plays an active role in African affairs and over the years built a strong relationship with progressive African bodies, with the AU Foundation being one of the organisations he contributes positively too.
