Five ways to Be Bold For Change this IWD

In 2015, my family and I made the decision to leave Geneva and relocate to Johannesburg so I could pursue a new professional challenge. My wife quit her job and, with our young children, came with me to Johannesburg, and then, a year later, they went with me to Accra, where we are currently based. Since these decisions, I have been questioning my own commitment to women’s economic empowerment.

Moussa Faki Mahamat lauds Dr. Dlamini Zuma for championing continental agenda, as he takes over as AU Commission Chairperson

The new Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, HE Moussa Faki Mahamat has lauded his immediate predecessor HE Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, for leading the process to formulate a continental vision, and for finding lasting solutions to the issue of financing the Union, amongst other things. HE Moussa Faki Mahamat renewed his strong commitment to continued implementation of the continental vision Agenda 2063, as he delivered his maiden address after taking over from Dr. Dlamini Zuma as the AU Commission Chairperson.

Ministers, ambassadors and experts from Africa and Japan concerned with gender issues in maritime, business, construction, mining, agriculture, logistics and private finance among others convened together in an effort to build on commitments made to gender equality and women’s empowerment, the TICAD VI Declaration and actions as outlined in the Yokohama Action Plan of 2013–2017.
